LinkedIn,
Today, let’s dive into a fintech tool: Ramp.
Ramp is a powerful financial automation platform designed to help businesses streamline their expense management. From tracking spending to automating workflows, Ramp makes finance functions more efficient, saving teams valuable time and resources. Whether you’re managing budgets, reviewing purchase orders, or gaining a real-time snapshot of company finances, Ramp consolidates all your financial data into one centralized place.
What sets Ramp apart is its comprehensive suite of features for expense management, including automated expense tracking, real-time data syncing, robust integrations with other business tools, and a user-friendly interface. All of these elements are designed to simplify the corporate spending process and give businesses greater control over their finances.
Founded by Eric Glyman, Karim Atiyeh, and Gene Lee, Ramp emerged from the realization that finance teams needed better tools to manage spending. Eric and Karim’s entrepreneurial journey began with Paribus Co., a company they founded to help consumers automatically track price drops on purchases, including flights, and secure refunds from retailers or airlines when prices decreased. After Paribus was acquired by Capital One, Eric and Karim spent years scaling the business within Capital One. Their experiences led them to realize that businesses needed better financial tools, so in 2019, they co-founded Ramp, with Gene joining as a third co-founder.
In just a few years, Ramp has transformed how companies approach financial workflows. Customers like Gusto, Zapier, and Shopify are using it to drive financial clarity. Ramp’s suite also includes automatic savings suggestions by analyzing spending patterns, further streamlining financial operations, and now corporate credit cards. Plus, it’s fully scalable, meaning businesses—from startups to large enterprises—can leverage it to meet their evolving needs.
As of April 2024, Ramp is valued at $7.65 billion.
