Sharon Wilson Geno thanks for calling this out. I see, first hand, so many rental housing operators, and boots on the ground folks who care so very deeply about their residents. They recognize that they are responsible for these peoples homes and take great care to make it an inviting, peaceful, and enjoyable experience to live there. I'm hopeful the outside mentality changes towards our industry that has always had only a single top focus in mind. Making it a home more than simply a place to live.
Sharon Wilson Geno As a long time member of NMHC, I am thrilled that you all took the initiative to commission this study. There are so many of us that consider it a privilege to serve the public in one of their basic needs, a home. When the pandemic hit, what were we called to do...Shelter in Place. Apartment operators provided that place of shelter. Our professional industry colleagues were also 'front line worker heroes', making sure their resident's health and well being was a top priority. Let's not let a very few of those poor operators have the loudest voice. Let me know how I can help.
Thank you for amplifying my Team’s work at WYL! We’re happy that our national study can play an important role in further understanding our industry and the residents we all serve. #moremore ✨

1wSolid work Sharon Wilson Geno Kevin Donnelly Ofo Ezeugwu on this breakdown for transparency of the challenges and barriers to affordable rental housing. As someone who lived in affordable & rent controlled housing, I’ve seen first hand how important it is for supply to catch up with demand. As a nation built on entrepreneurship, we need more housing to spur housing affordability, jobs & a strong economy!
