Today's Senate Judiciary Subcommittee hearing titled "A Time for Truth: Oversight of Meta’s Foreign Relations and Representations to the United States Congress" (https://lnkd.in/eVvnQYWJ) which featured testimony from former Facebook executive Sarah Wynn-Williams, revealed very disturbing details.   Big Tech often insists that efforts to safeguard children online—like stopping predators or limiting exposure to pornography—undermine privacy rights. However, today’s U.S. Senate subcommittee hearing exposed that Meta is monitoring kids online so closely, it’s even using their negative emotions to target them with ads.   It is time to pass a range of online safety regulations, Big Tech cannot police itself.   Just ONE WEEK after the launch of the Dirty Dozen List where we called on Congress to repeal Section 230, Senators are raising the issue in this hearing. Momentum is growing, and the movement is uniquely positioned to call for true mass-scale prevention at just such a time as to make the greatest impact. Keep up the great work Marcel my friend! Looking forward to working collaboratively in the future.

They only bring up privacy concerns because it is a hot button topic. They are using innovation now as a reason that they should be shielded of any responsibility for what happens on their platform. They can never articulate what privacies or freedoms might be in jeopardy or even how innovation may be halted by protecting children. The only concern Meta has is loss of profit.

Keep up the great work!

Thus, the reason for emogies. As soon as they showed up On Facebook, I knew they were there to manipulate users via algorithms.
