5 American hostages are being held by Hamas in Gaza, deprived of the very freedoms we cherish. Their plight is a stark reminder that the fight for liberty is ongoing. Our collective independence is not complete until every American is free. Here's what you can do: 1. Urge Congress to help release the hostages held by Hamas. 2. Tell your lawmakers to do everything in their power to bring our fellow citizens back to safety. As part of the U.S. Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad of America's Heritage Abroad, we believe in the importance of caring for one another, especially when fellow Americans are in peril. When five Americans are kidnapped abroad, it's our duty to stand up and demand action. Our voices can make a difference. Together, we can work towards a world where everyone can celebrate their own independence. May freedom ring for all. #IndependenceDay #FreedomForAll #BringThemHome #UrgeCongress #HeritageAbroad

The Sykes-Picot Agreement of 1916 was a secret deal between Britain and France to divide up the Middle East after World War I. Under this agreement, Palestine was supposed to come under international administration. However, this conflicted with other promises made by Britain:In the Balfour Declaration of 1917, Britain expressed support for "the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people". This was seen as a precursor to the creation of Israel. During the war, Britain had also promised the Arabs independence from the Ottoman Empire in exchange for their revolt against the Turks. This was part of the Hussein-McMahon Correspondence in 1915-1916. So Britain made conflicting promises to the Arabs, the French, and the Zionist movement regarding the fate of Palestine after the war. This laid the groundwork for future conflict. #conflicting promises

"October 7 Was Not the Start" When we discuss the Israel-Palestinian conflict, it’s essential to recognize that the violence we see today didn’t begin with the headlines on October 7. This date may have captured the world's attention, but the conflict traces back over a century to the rise of Zionism and the first waves of Jewish immigration to Palestine. What many call “security measures” in Gaza or the West Bank are not new, and neither are the decades of displacement and suffering faced by Palestinians. To understand the events of today, we must look at the Nakba of 1948, the military occupation of 1967, and the continuous expansion of settlements—each a chapter in a long history of dispossession. As I’ll explore in my blog, Beyond the Narrative, the story is far more complex than a single event. What is often described as a “conflict” is, at its core, an ongoing struggle for liberation, land, and identity—one where the scales of power have long been unbalanced. #IsraelPalestine #BeyondTheNarrative #HistoryMatters #UnfilteredTruths #MiddleEast

The two people in Canberra represent the Commonwealth/ Approximately 100 Stolen Countries. Two people that continue to benefit financially because of one family in the world stealing Aboriginal lands around the planet. Two people that represent colonisation in Australia - 236 years of history on this continent. They are not your Royal Family, Australia. The only Royal Families in this Country with #SovereignRights are Aboriginal Peoples. How do you treat your true Royal Families from this continent? Turn a blind eye and therefore ignore the atrocities of a #British not Australian Family that you call "Royal"??? Two people visit Australia, and Australians embrace them knowing who they are and what they represent in this country's 236 year old story? Australians that recognise the British "Royal Family" (I would use another term to describe them...) are Not True Australians. Plain and simple. You must recognise the Sovereignty of Aboriginal Peoples. You are British (or wherever your ancestors come from) until you respectfully recognise Aboriginal Sovereignty.

The course of Liberian history was changed forever when, on April 12, 1980, seventeen members of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), called the People's Redemption Council (PRC), assassinated Liberia's 21st president, William R. Tolbert in a coup. The coup was led by Master Sergeant Samuel K. Doe, who later served as the leader of Liberia from April 13, 1980, until his assassination on September 9, 1990, during the first half of the Liberian civil war. The civil war lasted from December 24, 1989, to August 18, 2003. Mr. Tolbert became the second Liberian president to be assassinated in office (Edward J. Roye was the first), and his assassination ended a long period of Americo-Liberian (Liberians of American descent) rule, also known as the First Liberian Republic. It was a period marred by nepotism, corruption, ethnic biases, etc. The freed slaves and/or their descendants who were taken to Liberia by the American Colonisation Society (ACS) during the early 19th century assumed power, and then for nearly a century or more treated the natives they met in current day Liberia as terribly as they were treated as slaves in America. Overall, the military coup of 1980 became one of the causes of the Liberian civil—a 14-year period of fitful fightings—that caused the deaths of at least 250,000 people, and took Africa’s oldest independent republic nearly back to its pre-independence days infrastructurally. #history #africa #liberia #westafrica #africanhistory #ushistory #globalevents #worldhistory
