Last week the voice of America's rental housing industry was heard in the Halls of Congress as 800 members (including 234 first-time attendees) of the National Apartment Association lobbied their Senators and Representatives, across nearly 260 meetings. Top on their minds were legislation to extend and expand the 2017 Tax Cuts & Jobs Act and the Respect State Housing Laws Act, a bill to clarify the end of the CARES Act 30-day "notice to vacate" requirement. By the end of the week, we added several cosponsors to both the House and Senate versions of the Respect Act. This group really did their job! Extremely proud of our team at NAA who organized and executed another high-impact advocacy engagement for rental housing providers. No one does it better.
