Myriad4Sensing’s Post

A excellent work that gives us some light on the interactions between femtosecond pulses and silica, and demonstrates the value of FBGs in harsh environments. Well done !

🌟 New Paper Published: "Micro-to-Nanoscale Characterization of Femtosecond Laser Photo-Inscribed Microvoids" 🌟 I’m excited to share our latest paper in Nanomaterials! We investigate femtosecond laser photo-inscribed microvoids, which are key for enhancing fiber Bragg gratings sensors for harsh environments. We used high-resolution techniques such as quantitative phase microscopy, electron transmission microscopy, and scattering-type scanning near-field IR optical microscopy to analyze the microvoids and their surrounding densified shells. We also examined their behavior under elevated temperatures, observing changes in size and shape up to 1250°C. A big thank you to everyone who contributed!
