♻️ Unlocking Hidden Resources in Waste Rock Piles Mining waste from centuries past could be a resource of the future—but how do we unlock it? That’s exactly what we’re exploring in the XTRACT-PROJECT with our Portugese partners from LNEG. Last week at #GeoDays2025 (https://lnkd.in/dJYDW6by), we showcased our borehole muon imaging solution in a poster, highlighting what the new detector can do: ✅ Non-invasive imaging – Maps hidden density variations inside waste piles ✅ Precise resource targeting – Identifies mineral-rich zones with minimal drilling ✅ Sustainable recovery – Extracts valuable materials while reducing waste Our first field test is set for mid-2025 at Portugal’s historic São Domingos Mine—where mining from Roman times to the 1960s has left extensive waste piles just waiting to be re-examined.
