Align the description with the actual needs of the job, and avoid focusing on outdated or irrelevant traits that don't predict success.

The rise of the referral network is real. I remember way back in the beginning of my recruitment career that referrals weren't as welcomed as they are now. But these days when I'm coaching candidates for job seeking I recommend connecting with your networks as a priority. I mean, NZ is basically still a village. And the reverse is also true. Before going to market, SMEs (well actually all businesses) should check in your networks first. You'll be amazing at the gold you'll find.
