🎬 We’re excited to announce 29 TV and film productions will share nearly $1.5 million in grant funding to shoot on-location productions in Montana, spending an estimated $11.3 million across the state while doing so, helping boost local economies. These grants are awarded through the Big Sky Film Grant Program at the @Montana Department of Commerce Film Office, funded by an allocation of the lodging facility use tax, or “bed tax.” In 2023, Senate Bill 540 of the 68th Montana Legislature revised laws related to state-funded tourism promotion to require a specific allocation of bed tax monies for Montana-based film grants. Kudos to our Film Office team members, who work hard year-round to promote Montana as a business destination for production companies to expand filming in our state, increase job opportunities, promote small business growth and promote tourism.
