MIT Reality Hack (Co-organized by Reality Hack, Inc. and VR/AR MIT) reposted this

Collecting my thoughts from MIT Reality Hack from the last week while trying to catch up from sleep. Well, here are some of the facts: ✅ About 450 hackers representing 70 nationalities across every major continent. ✅ Over 75 teams formed at the event to work on projects. ✅ Once again, the least sleep I've ever had over a 6 night period. ✅ The biggest majority volunteer org team we've ever had. This event still feels like it shouldn't exist. It's a 5-day event that's a hackathon, a conference, an expo, a day of educational seminars, a party, and a week of online pre-programming all rolled into one big experience. And it's all done with the heart and soul of volunteers who truly believe in a better and shared vision for technology for positive change while empowering people with the skills and purpose they need to make it happen. The love and passion of our team seeps into every aspect of the hack, from our team personally welcoming every participant to the event, to being on the ground solving every need and answering every question folks have to ensure they have a good time. We take care of our community because we want them to have the tools they need to succeed. And it shows. Every year, it melts my heart to hear from folks that tell me how much this experience means to them. From folks saying this event was "life changing" to "the most fun I've ever had" to "The last decade has been more and more scary but you all continue to give me hope that we can do this." We strive to be a driving force to empower individuals to build the future they want to see and spark positive change. Some would call us crazy to give away so much of our time and energy to volunteer for an event of this scale, but we need a little bit of crazy in our lives to move things forward. We are MIT Reality Hack. We are an experiential technology event for good. We are a diverse and inclusive community to help people learn and grow; and we welcome you with open arms. I am so incredibly grateful and honored every year to play my small part in it. Thank you to my Reality Hack community and family. You've made this year truly one for the history books. 💖 Until next year, RH family. Let's continue to be the change we want to see in this world.
