Amanda is honored to be nominated for the role of Applied Laboratory Methods (ALM) PDG Vice Chair. Amanda has actively participated in the ALM PDG leading the webinar subgroup for the past three years and serving as the PDG Secretary for the past two. In addition, she's recently taken on the role of Verification and Validation Interest Group Coordinator. Amanda has participated in a variety of ALM PDG initiatives, including the IAFP Annual Meetings, the Method Validation IAFP workshop, four Food Protection Trends publications, and three ALM PDG sponsored IAFP webinars. Amanda is the Sr. Technical Director of Food Safety at Midwest Laboratories an ISO 17025 Accredited Laboratory in Omaha, NE. Here she oversees the operational and technical direction of the microbiology and food chemistry laboratories and ensures compliance of the analytical and microbiological testing activities with applicable regulatory guidance and food industry standards. In addition to routine testing, Amanda and the microbiology R&D team also provide custom projects to clients including method verifications and validations, matrix extension studies, microbial challenge studies, and process validations. She has her M.S. in Biology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, with a research focus in molecular genetics and genome technology.
