Over the three-year period Enterprise Ireland client companies created 50,931 new jobs and at the end of 2023 over €34 billion in exports was recorded. Two thirds of the jobs created in the three-year period were outside Dublin and we supported 479 start-up businesses, up over 20% on the prior three years. Overall this article reflects a positive outlook for Ireland but with some caveats. Cost competitiveness is currently the top concern for American companies looking to grow their presence in Ireland, according to the latest survey by the American Chamber of Commerce. Notably, 32% of respondents have cited it as their primary worry, contrasting significantly with only 19% in July. Housing equally remains a crucial hurdle, with 30% of chamber members pointing it out as their main challenge to expansion. Interestingly, there are 210,000 people in Ireland employed by 970 US multinationals. It's heartening to see nearly half of the surveyed members plan to increase their workforce in Ireland over the next year, while 48% anticipate maintaining their current staff levels. Despite these challenges, 90% of members maintain a positive view of Ireland as a hub for investment and growth. What's striking is that the shortage of specialist skills is the most common barrier to filling vacancies, reported by 46% of respondents. Additionally, 20% struggle due to housing issues, and 18% face a general shortage of talent. The favourable view of Ireland's business environment stems from its stable, pro-enterprise ecosystem, a sentiment shared by 35% of the surveyed members. Do you see opportunities for growth in Ireland? #BusinessGrowth #IrelandInvestment #Recruitment

🔊 Introducing Northern Ireland's First Employment Monitor 🔊 Curious about the latest trends in IT? Despite economic uncertainty, Northern Ireland's job market is showing remarkable resilience, with unemployment hitting a historic low of 2%. In today's dynamic environment, it's crucial to stay ahead of market changes rather than just reacting to them. That's where the NI Employment Monitor comes in, a strategic, data-driven report designed for Business Leaders and Hiring Managers across Northern Ireland. The report covers various sectors, including the IT sector, which has remained competitive as companies focus on making themselves as efficient as possible, making key hires, building new teams with niche skills, or backfilling resources. IT & Digital accounted for 25% of professional job vacancies in Q1 and Q2. Compared to the same period in 2023, there was a 12% reduction in job vacancies as many organisations exited periods of growth and hypergrowth, with technology companies either making redundancies due to overhiring during the COVID period or pausing hiring activities ahead of new financial years. 📍 Download your copy here: https://lnkd.in/ePyDcDrV MCS Group | Your Specialist Recruitment Consultancy #NIEmploymentMonitor #MCSGroup #JobMarketTrends
