We're proud to share that we, in partnership with Waterford City & County Council's Climate Action Team, have launched the ScoilAer project—a groundbreaking initiative leveraging our STRIAD:AIR technology. Supported by €20,000 in funding through the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme and its IMPETUS initiative, this project equips over 1,000 students from De La Salle College and Waterpark College with the tools and knowledge to map safer, healthier walking routes to school while reducing pollution exposure. Dr. Rachel Finn, Head of Irish Operations, highlighted the students’ excitement: "Combining environmental readings with advanced analytics really opened their eyes to how AI can have positive impacts on climate action and community wellbeing." With the amount of exploitation that happens in the gloabl south perhaps the foreign national and private companies that are engaging in extraction should have heavier controls on their emissions and waste to promote sustainable development

The fact that the Global North is ahead of the Global South in this regard highlights the urgent need for more equitable action and support for nature-positive initiatives. Collaboration is key to a thriving forest restoration economy. During a technical roundtable hosted with Ponterra at Climate Week NYC 2024, Fernando Visser, our Director of Business Development and Innovation, emphasized the importance of connecting diverse developers to build a new, economically viable business model focused on forest restoration. The event, structured to encourage a lively exchange of ideas, featured discussions on biodiversity, carbon, and more across five tables, each seating 15 industry leaders. Every group selected a topic and nominated a spokesperson to present their insights. The rich exchange of perspectives, drawing on leaders from different regions and backgrounds, highlighted one crucial takeaway: success in the new economy requires collaboration.
