Metrolink’s Post

As a Rail Traffic Controller, Barbara King feels empowered in her role because she is proud to break barriers as a woman in the railroad industry. She has over a decade of railroad experience in both freight and commuter rail systems. At Metrolink, Barbara safely moves passengers, many of whom rely on public transit for mobility. “It’s an amazing opportunity to provide this service and do it safely on a daily basis,” Barbara says.

That’s great, but what’s the skinny on getting Metrolink fully electrified by the Olympics? If Caltrain can do it, so can Metrolink. The air quality in the LA Basin is not the best. That’s why the full electrification of Metrolink is so important. Many of the passenger rail trains in Denver are electrified. I’ve been on several such trains. How do you feel about High-Speed Rail www.ushsr.com? Do you feel that California should secede from the United States and become its own independent country in order to complete its High-Speed Rail project in 2 years instead of 20.

Proud of you but the female barrier was broken in the 1970’s. Keep up the good work.
