Partnering with The Kangaroo Group aisbl, we hosted a lunch at the European Parliament to explore the metal packaging industry's challenges and opportunities under the new Clean Industrial Deal and Steel and Metals Action Plan. MEP Radan Kanev highlighted the critical challenges of high energy prices and scrap leakage. Paulina Dejmek Hack, Head of Cabinet for Commissioner Jessika Roswall, emphasised the EU's commitment to competitiveness, circularity, and innovation for a clean industrial transition. MPE President Paulo Sousa called for future European Commission initiatives to address energy costs, support decarbonisation, and implement resilient trade policies to boost the competitiveness of Europe's steel and aluminium value chains, including metal packaging.
