Sometimes you need to cold outbound 10,000 people to get the right ones on board...and that's exactly what our Co-Founders Shensi Ding and Gil Feig did to find their 4 founding engineers 🏆
Another great clip from Shensi's sit down with Grace Ge on Git with it!
I heard to get to your initial 4 founding engineers, you guys personally called out bounded 10,000 people. We did yeah, it's a horrible conversion rate, but we had to do it. And I think it was also a good practice for really feeling like our future within our control. And you are able to hire the people even when everyone can try ideas bad. You're able to find people even if you're 100% in person. We were in person in 2020. So it was very, very difficult. But yeah, I I think. That hiring process was really rigorous and we didn't actually learn a lot from Gil. My old, my Gil, my cofounder is old CEO because he was a professional recruiter and he had a lot of opinions about recruiting that were definitely more controversial. But there were some things that are really helpful, which were like you had to source, like the best candidates are not always looking and you have to reach out to them in order for them to find out about you.
