🌍 Relocation Checklist: Essential Steps for a Smooth Transition to Working Abroad ✈️ Choosing a country isn’t just about practicalities, it’s about finding a place where your heart feels at home! ✅ Choosing a New Country: 11 Things to take into consideration: . Culture Clash or Harmony? Consider whether the local culture aligns with your values, lifestyle, and preferences. Do you thrive in a bustling metropolis or prefer a quieter, close-knit community? . Language Barrier: Language can be both a bridge and a barrier. Are you ready to learn a new language or adapt to a bilingual environment? . Career Prospects and Opportunities: Research the job market in your chosen country. Is your profession in demand there? Are there growth opportunities? . Cost of Living: Compare living costs—rent, groceries, healthcare, education. Will your income cover your expenses comfortably? . Taxes and Savings: Understand tax laws and financial regulations. How will they impact your savings and investments? . Healthcare and Well-Being: Investigate the healthcare system. Is it accessible, affordable, and reliable? . Social Support Network: Moving away means leaving loved ones behind. How important is your social support network? . Building Connections: Be open to making new friends. Attend local events, join clubs, and connect with fellow expats. . Education System: If you have children, explore the education system. Are there good schools nearby? . Climate and Health: Consider how the climate affects your well-being. Some thrive in sunny locales, while others prefer cooler climates. . Crime Rates: Research safety levels. There’s a special kind of madness in being an international job seeker: You’re overqualified in your home country, but you’re "underqualified" here, and then comes that question: “Do you have Canadian experience?” I’ve got experience building results. I’ve got experience solving problems. I’ve got experience working in complex, high-pressure environments. But sure, let’s focus on the postal code of my past achievements. Hear me out: Your skills don’t suddenly lose their value when you cross a border. The system is broken, but you don’t have to be. The next time someone asks about “Canadian experience,” flip the script: “Would you like to hear about the time I helped my last company save $50,000 in six months?” Your story is your value. Tell it! And if someone still doesn’t get it? Move on. They’re not your people! Happy Friday <3 #orbit5 #jobsearch #careertips #askdavid

I have received this message from a Job Seeker who wishes to work abroad. I do not need to give you any more details as everything is displayed on the message. However, i have circled something important that the person said. It made me very happy and grateful to see that the work of EP Services is not going unnoticed and i would like to share it with you. 1- This person was referred by another person that EP Services helped get approved. I am very thankful that EP Services was able to help that person to finally have a chance to have a better life. 2- This person called me one of the most successful recruiters. I must state that this is very humbling, but i would not be this successful without the work of the dedicated employees of the Customer Service Team, contractors and partners of EP Services. So, if everything is going well, it is not because of me, but it is because of those people who do a lot of things behind the scene. Even though you do not always see them, your application will not be successful without them. So, i would like to say ''Thank you'' to them. 3- Lastly, i would like to thank our applicants for displaying a lot of patience towards us everyday. I know that EP Services is not perfect. We do make mistakes and it can be frustrating, but that is how we learn. 2025 is another year of improvement for us and to all of you, strive to be better. We will see you all either in Canada or in the UK ! 2025 is your year.

In a recent interview, I was asked why I decided to leave Colombia and move to Canada. I answered immediately: insecurity. The interviewers nodded, likely thinking I was referring to the dangers in the streets. To keep the conversation light, I confirmed that I preferred to live in a safer place and left it at that. However, what I truly wanted to say went much deeper. It wasn’t just about physical insecurity—it was also about job insecurity. I didn’t feel safe in an environment where a boss could treat you however they wanted because there were hundreds of equally skilled professionals ready to take your place for less money. That’s the worst feeling: knowing that no matter how much you achieve, how hard you work, or how many years you dedicate, you’re always walking on a tightrope. In Colombia, I worked for years in private companies without ever receiving a raise, while inflation slowly eroded my quality of life. I studied, I started my own business, I worked hard to become “more competitive.” Yet, even then, I couldn’t negotiate my salary because I was “overqualified” for the roles I applied for. Job insecurity is also contracts that last for days or months, where conditions are recycled endlessly without improvement. I’m writing this today because I just saw a job posting from a company I used to respect deeply in Colombia, looking for professionals to work as freelancers. It’s infuriating that this is what’s being offered to highly skilled professionals in the country. How do we stop these practices? It’s a political and structural issue I can’t solve from here in Canada. What I do know is that I just want to work—work hard, as I always have—but under conditions that allow me to enjoy a good quality of life. Because working shouldn’t mean just surviving; it should mean building a dignified future. #JobInsecurity #WorkplaceRights #EngineeringCareers #ColombianProfessionals #FreelanceChallenges #DignifiedWork #CareerDevelopment #InternationalPerspectives #QualityOfLife #WorkplaceReflections
