McLaren Oakland’s Post

The McLaren Oakland Security Department has recently been certified by the Michigan State Police and the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) as a "Private Security Police Agency with Arrest Authority". As part of that process, the department will be sending officers to police academies in the tri-county area for the required training. LT Michael May and LT Branden Ramos are our first graduates from the Police Authority Training Academy administered by the Macomb Community College Public Service Institute. Some of the training topics included Active Shooter Response, Cultural Diversity, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Ethics in Policing, Defensive Tactics, and Interviewing/Interrogation. This certification and training are just a few of the upgrades to the Security Department as we continue to make McLaren Oakland a safe place for our patients, guests, and employees. Please be sure to congratulate LT Mike and LT Branden when you see them on patrol around our campus!

This is amazing! Congratulations to both of you! This is well deserved! Thank you to your entire team for the great work you’ve been doing, it makes me feel much safer on the unit to know that when I call, you will respond quickly and that you are prepared to assist in keeping our unit safe for staff and patients. Thank you to our CEO Dr Suter, for organizing this great security team. This is one of many important and great changes I’ve seen since your arrival to McLaren Oakland.Praise God for all of you!
