McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.’s Post

We're celebrating the ten-year anniversary of the completion of the Ground Water Replenishment System Phase Two Expansion project for the Orange County Water District (OCWD)! 🎉 To date, this is the nation's largest Advanced Water Purification (AWP) facility, with the 2015 expansion bringing the plant to a total capacity of 100 million gallons per day (MGD). 💧 To celebrate this milestone, Mehul Patel, P.E, BCEE, Executive Director of Operations for OCWD, reunited with some of our key project team members to walk to site and recap what made this project so successful for the community. Due to the harsh drought conditions in Southern California, OCWD identified a need to replenish the underwater aquifer system via recycling methods through the now 130 MGD facility. With design and engineering from Black & Veatch, we're proud to see such successful operations a decade later. 🤝 #McCarthyBuild #Water #Wastewater #AWP #AdvancedWaterPurfication #Innovation
