Chief Regulatory Officer at NYU Langone Medical Center

Can we ever be fully prepared? That question has echoed throughout my career working in complex academic medical centers. At @NYULangoneHealth we are proud of how we track, measure, and refine our clinical excellence, and today I'm grateful to share the ways that we put equal focus on building organizational resilience. My article in @Frontiers of Health Services Management discusses how we've evolved from reacting to crises to proactively stress testing ourselves. When Sandy's 15-foot storm surge threatened our patients, when COVID-19 tested our limits, and when CrowdStrike's disruption challenged our systems our culture of readiness carried us through. What moves me most is how our teams transform challenges into opportunities for connection. Leadership rounding isn't just oversight—it's about truly seeing each other. Team Lavender doesn't just offer support, it reminds us why we chose careers in healthcare. Our "muscle memory" isn't just institutional knowledge—it's collective courage. I'm sharing this today because we all need to stand ready for whatever comes next. Our communities deserve nothing less. https://lnkd.in/eZZSg3ya #EmergencyPreparedness #HealthcareResilience #NYULangoneHealth #EnterpriseRiskManagement
