I can't believe the city of Los Angeles did this. Some ads are so good you just have to share them. This was six years ago. The city of Los Angeles put up this ad for a graphic designer, but they had it look like it was made by a child using Microsoft Paint. The ad went viral and they got more applications from top designers than they could imagine. The best comment: “You don't need to hire a graphic designer, you've already got the best one.” I am obsessed with creative ads like this. #advertising #branding #digitalmarketing #viralmarketing

Every day dozens of talented motion designers post incredibly skilled work. And yet, they’re not landing anything. Why is that? Well, in my opinion, it’s a simple answer, in fact it’s a single word: Story. What story are you sharing with your post? You have to grab attention using a story, not technical prowess, nor with showing off your smooth keyframes. Even if it’s a 3 second loop, what are you telling us in those 3 seconds? That’s precisely why in-your-face ad campaigns have lost their appeal. And why ad agencies now create stories that engage before hitting us with the product reveal in the end. Sometimes the product isnt even there, just a mention. So please keep this in mind with every post. Engage people’s interest. Get us hooked to your piece. This in my opinion is what will land you leads. From the most random people sometimes.

Understanding the Difference: Art Director vs. Creative Director The roles of an art director and a creative director often overlap, but they have distinct responsibilities and focuses. - Creative Director • Visionary Leader: Responsible for the overall vision and direction of a project, overseeing the entire creative process from conception to completion. • Strategic Planning: Ensures all visuals, messages, and installations are cohesive and aligned with the project’s goals. • Client Liaison: Acts as the main point of contact between the client and the creative team. • Team Management: Leads brainstorming sessions, assigns responsibilities, manages budgets, and ensures deadlines are met. - Art Director • Visual Focus: Primarily responsible for the visual elements of a project, focusing on aesthetics and the overall look and feel. • Execution: Takes the creative director’s vision and executes it through detailed design work, collaborating with graphic designers, photographers, and other visual artists. • Hands-On Role: Involved in the hands-on creation of visual content, ensuring alignment with the project’s goals. Both roles are crucial in bringing a project to life, but they operate at different levels of the creative process. #DesignLeadership #CreativeDirector #ArtDirector #DesignProcess #CreativeVision #VisualDesign #CareerGrowth #UXDesign #UIUX #DesignThinking

Companies want a visual brand that stands out. Creative/brand teams ruminate on ways to differentiate from the old identity and from current competitors. One of the biggest issues I’ve noticed within company brand guidelines is that there are not enough “brand in action” and implementation examples. Not enough clear instructions to follow. Yes, it looks cool, but only the designer(s) who came up with the idea know how to activate it correctly across various applications. Truthfully, they might still be figuring it out as they go. The reality is that there will also be other team members, agencies, contractors, freelancers, and new hires—all trying to implement a visual system with the same innovation and consistency. Rarely does that happen, especially when guidelines are too vague. Or, they get boxed in when guidelines are too rigid and the visual brand becomes stale/isn’t flexible to grow. It’s definitely a challenge. #brand #guidelines #visualidentity

Why Design Matters More Than Ever? Design is more than aesthetics—it’s about creating meaningful connections. Behind every compelling visual lies a team united by strategy, vision, and ideas, with designers at the core. A designer doesn’t just create visuals; they transform inspiration into work that captivates audiences, influences decisions, and evokes a genuine “Sense of Belonging.” At Amerge, we specialize in making this difference. Our design team combines expertise with a deep understanding of Amazon’s advertising policies to deliver creative, impactful content. The results speak for themselves: Sales from Brand Store in 2024 increased on average by 178.63% for five of our clients. Great design does more than catch the eye—it drives sales, boosts brand loyalty, and turns curiosity into action. I’m Mathieu, Senior Content Designer at Amerge, dedicated to crafting visuals that engage and inspire. Let’s connect—and don’t miss our latest Amerge Showreel to see our work in action! #amerge #showreel #creativeservices

Do these things to avoid creative production nightmares 👻 Remember that one project that turned into a complete disaster the moment the first draft was sent off? ↳ Urgent client meetings ↳ Confusion over things you signed off ↳ Feedback from seemingly every one in the company ↳ Complete U-Turn on creative vision ↳ Endless feedback rounds ↳ The dreaded last minute soundtrack change These pains are multiplied when working in Motion Design, so many keyframes = so many hours wasted! But luckily we can avoid all of this with a healthy pre-production process 🔮 Crystal Clear Comms →Being proactive is key—suggest the most efficient communication channels and define the main points of contact early on. →Provide a clear critical path of internal deadlines and feedback rounds. This ensures everyone can track progress smoothly and stay on the same page throughout the project 🥂 Champagne Taste on a Lemonade Budget →While it's tempting to reference the latest Nike campaign (other brands exist), it's crucial to give clients a realistic approach when mood boarding. Feel free to show inspiring examples, but be clear about which elements you intend to replicate. Better yet, include more attainable references to help manage expectations and find a balance that fits their budget. 💫 Align on Vision →What’s crystal clear in your mind, might be completely different from your client’s perspective. Always take the time to explain your thought process thoroughly—never assume they see things the same way. →Avoid using creative or technical jargon all the time, as some clients will nod along even if they don’t fully understand. Demonstrate your expertise, but not compromising clarity. ✍ Work up key design →If you have the luxury of time (which I know is rare), work up some key design moments to final output quality. A few seconds of motion is the most effective way to showcase the creative direction to the client. It helps set clear expectations for the final delivery and can also reveal potential challenges you might not have anticipated until the later stages. -------------------------------- Hopefully some of this is helpful, in my experience it’s always worth sweating the details in pre-production. Those extra hours can save you days of pain later down the line. Below is some screen grabs from a recent project with Fotoware, a perfect example of a healthy pre-production 🤝 creating great results. Shout out to Alex Kronenberg on this one! #PreProduction #motiondesign #CampaignSuccess #CreativeProcess #VideoProduction #DesignThinking
