Mastery Schools’ Post

One year later: Our $3.7 million literacy grant is making a difference! Last year, Mastery Schools received an Innovative Approaches to Literacy (IAL) grant from U.S. Department of Education, which allowed us to provide new classroom libraries to K-3 classrooms in three schools. Second-grade teacher Liz Schultz from Frederick Douglass Elementary shares the incredible impact these libraries have had on her students. Thanks to the new resources, oral reading fluency has doubled in Liz's classroom and the excitement for reading among the students has grown immensely! We are thrilled to introduce these transformative libraries to four more schools later this year in support of our mission to ensure every student reads on grade level by third grade. #WeAreMastery #PHLed #NJed
