At the #PDX Airport, even the wood tells a story. From the tall Doug fir beams to the wooden markers placed throughout the terminal, each piece connects back to forests across the Northwest. A selection of the wood can even be traced directly to sixteen communities, tribes, and families who care for them. 3dReally appreciate the recognition of the cultural and historical connection of the local timber to the modern airport. The land, the proximity to the river, the timber and the tribal narratives posted throughout add important acknowledgement of our linkage to tribal history and to tribal lands.
