Ford is hoping to broaden the appeal of its seven-seat Expedition SUV and boost market share in a crowded segment by adding more off-road muscle and new features to make family travel more convenient. The 2025 Expedition, on sale next spring, adds the rear split gate that debuted in August on the Lincoln Navigator, with which it shares a platform. It has a new grille and headlamp design, a 24-inch panoramic digital display that curves along most of the dashboard, an optional sliding front console with lockable storage and optional lighting that illuminates the surrounding area when parked. A new Tremor variant, which replaces the Timberline trim, provides more off-road capability and expands that line beyond Ford's pickups. The redesign comes at an important time for Ford.
