Last night for the first time in a long time I volunteered with Junior Achievement. If you're not familiar, they're a non-profit focused on helping young entrepreneurs learn the ropes and connect with their adult peers in the business world. StudentSage is a peer_to_peer Pedagogy Project which suggests that students in the program are both learners and mentors, embodying wisdom and knowledge as they help each other understand their lessons. What does a Gen Z have in common with Gen X. RUNNING. Today was day 4 of the 16Ks for 16 days run. I was privileged to be joined by these individuals who not only encouraged me, but offered great company. I am truly privileged to have a running community. A group run that felt like just a normal 5 kilometer run. I was reminded in the moment that running is more of a team sport than an individual activity. The same applies to dealing with GBV, where we all need to come together and use our collective voices in addressing inequality and the challenges posed by GBV. #16daysofactivism #16Ksfor16days #Run265 #Everystepcounts #JoggersOntheMove

Listen to one of Trailblazer’s incredible Volunteer Mentors. 🔈 With the new government’s Early Release Scheme coming into effect at the start of September, the need is greater than ever to support people leaving prison. If this government policy is going to work, rehabilitation and the reduction of reoffending is crucial. Without sufficient support, many people can find themselves in a cycle of reoffending, which only serves to exacerbate the problem of overcrowding in prison. Trailblazers’ mission is to stop reoffending and improve outcomes for our mentees. To achieve this, we offer intensive mentoring and practical support in custody, through-the-gates and into the community; and we know our model of support works. Our mentoring programme is carried out by a large cohort of Volunteer Mentors and we need your help.
