If you're feeling stuck, reach out to your community for feedback. If you have a community built inside Networked, you can use tools such as polls and surveys to gather input. Your community will appreciate being heard, and implementing their feedback shows them their voices matter as you shape the community to meet their goals.

The power of communication is identifying your communities. Who are you talking to and what are you talking about? Community of Interest: A group of people who connect over a shared passion or experience. Community of Practice: A group of people who share a common profession, craft, or skill. Community of Place or Space: A community defined by geographic location, proximity, or common platform. Community of Action: A group of people who come together to take collective action toward a common goal or purpose. Community of Circumstance: Brings people together who share a common situation, challenge, or experience, often unexpectedly or involuntarily.

The Secret to Building a Thriving Online Community In today's digital landscape, community isn't just important—it's VITAL for your product or company's success. But here's the catch: to receive value, you must first CREATE value. So, how do you build a sustainable community that members love? 🤔 Ask yourself these crucial questions: 1. Who's in our community and why? 2. What problem are they trying to solve? 3. What value can we provide ? 4. How can members support each other? 5. How do we reward participation? 6. How can we make our community smarter, happier, or wealthier? Remember: Without value, your community won't last. 🎉 Communities are all the rage these days, but how do you pick the best ones? I joined a LOT of communities in the last year (I forgot to network outside of my company for too long) Some takeaways: 🎯 Community theme There is benefit to joining communities in your arena, adjacent to your arena and somewhat outside your arena. If you've ever gone to a block party, everyone knows each other and the conversations are richer i.e small gyms or a trip with friends from HS If you go to a city wide event, it's much more overwhelming i.e. large networking events or a large conference Are you learning something new? A community can help you bridge that gap! 🏙️ Big communities vs. smaller communities Big communities offer more differentiation Smaller communities offer a close-knit group 👉 Set your expectations correctly Level-plus communities: offer people who have the same problems and can speak the same language, but this sometimes creates groupthink Level agnostic: They allow for mentoring and learning, but sometimes the conversations are misaligned 📨 Invite only communities Can be a community designed to draw in their ICP or potential customers. That doesn't always work well once the dust settles Can be very well thought out. They drive people who have the same values. They don't want to be big. They want to have a big IMPACT. 💰 Paid vs. Free Paid communities can be beneficial, but make sure you're paying a fair amount for what you're receiving. And make sure you're being a valuable participant. If you don't participate, you're not doing the math correctly Free communities are generally larger and harder to manage, but they rely on champions within the communities. Yesterday, during our weekly Bootcamp live session with Mercy Adebayo, we had the privilege of hosting Oduak Okure as our guest. She shared invaluable insights that completely transformed my perspective on the importance of building and nurturing communities. Here are a few key takeaways: Empathy: To build a strong community, one must practice and demonstrate empathy. Understanding others’ pain points not only builds trust but also fosters meaningful connections. Active listening is key to truly understanding your audience. Sincerity and Kindness: People value authenticity and intentional acts of kindness. Whether it’s recommending peers for opportunities, celebrating their achievements, or offering genuine support, these actions strengthen bonds and build a sense of belonging. Engagement is a Give-and-Take: Oduak emphasized that community growth thrives on reciprocity. It’s not about taking endlessly but about giving just as much, if not more. Shine the Spotlight on Others: Elevating others in your community—whether by celebrating their achievements, amplifying their voices, or creating opportunities for them to shine—creates a culture of mutual respect and growth.
