What An Exciting Time For Innovation In the EU! The EU has taken a significant step forward in the regulation and innovation of AI with the launch of its new office to implement the AI Act. This office will utilize two key risk-based approaches: 1. High-risk AI systems will undergo stringent compliance requirements to ensure safety, transparency, and accountability. 2. Limited-risk AI systems will have lighter requirements, focusing on transparency and allowing innovation to flourish. The primary goal of this office is to promote the “future development, deployment, and use” of AI technologies, aiming to harness their societal and economic benefits while mitigating associated risks. By staffing over 140 people from diverse backgrounds and educational fields to rigorously test and utilize AI, the EU is laying a robust foundation for responsible AI governance.
