Did you know 95% of all Paris 2024 Olympic infrastructure was already there? Paris La Défense Arena was transformed from a rugby stadium into a swimming venue in 36 days. Here is how in 33 seconds. 👇 🏉 Opened in 2017, the arena is usually home to rugby side Racing 92. 🏊♂️ In preparation for the Olympics, the rugby pitch was removed, and replaced by two 50-metre pools - one used for competition and the other reserved for practice. 📉 Because of this approach, the Paris Olympics are expected to be one of the cheapest on record, economists say, with the Games estimated to cost a total of €8.9bn says LinkedIn News. 🤑 By contrast, both the London 2012 and Rio 2016 cost about $13bn (€12bn, £10bn), while the 2020 Tokyo Olympics came in at about $35bn. 👀 Watch a timelapse video of the build here: https://lnkd.in/euU-8zV5 ----------------------- 💥 My name is Malph. 🆘 Helping brands to use sponsorship to deliver marketing objectives. 🤝 Supporting rights holders to build valuable partnerships. The Paris Olympics have been, so far, a roaring success. The Creativity showcasing Paris in the opening ceremony highlighted this amazing city architecture and iconic buildings. It was brave and creative to take the ceremony out of a stadium and it has worked.

To have spent that much money and not have infrastructure improvements for the country afterwards seems prophligate. UKs Olympic village became new housing, the swimming pool is a facility used by the local population and hosts national and international events, the athletics stadium is now the home of a premier division football team giving pleasure to 10s of thousands every week! Not sure the French solution was the best? Then again horseguards as a temp beach volleyball venue probably was a good idea.
