🚗 Toyota’s Vision of the Future: Woven City! 🌐 Toyota has completed Phase 1 of its ambitious Woven City project in Japan, marking a major milestone in its transformation from a traditional automaker to a modern mobility company. Located at the site of the former Toyota Motor East Japan’s Higashi-Fuji Plant, Woven City is more than just a place—it’s a living laboratory where cutting-edge technologies like robotics, automated vehicles, and e-VTOLs will be tested and developed. Woven City will eventually house around 2,000 residents, or “weavers,” who will live in an ecosystem powered by innovation. In its first phase, 100 Toyota employees and their families, along with partner companies, will move in to test out new ideas that could revolutionize mobility, aging, and urban living. Residents will have the opportunity to interact with advanced robotics, mobility solutions, and other emerging technologies aimed at improving quality of life. Key aspects of Woven City include 🌐Mobility innovation: Testing of small vehicles, automated shuttles, and autonomous systems. 🌐Robotics: Introducing robots to assist with daily tasks, particularly for elderly residents. 🌐Business incubation: Encouraging new business ventures and technology startups in a supportive environment. 🌐Sustainability and collaboration: Fostering an ecosystem of innovation and cross-industry collaboration. At CES 2020, Toyota Motor Corporation revealed plans for “Woven City,” a prototype town of the future that would host R&D into advanced technologies, as well as #robotics and #smart homes. This year at #CES, Chairman Akio Toyoda in a keynote address announced the completion of the first phase of this town of the future, located in Susono City, Japan, near the base of Mt. Fuji. Toyota Motor Corporation unveiled Woven City at CES 2020 as a groundbreaking initiative to transform the former Toyota Motor East Japan plant near Mount Fuji into a hub for innovation.
