Hello and welcome to the Q1 2025 Lloyd's Market Message which will give a steer as to how the current market conditions will feed into our market oversight approach for the 2026 to 2028 underwriting years. Our aim is to continually look around corners, to build resilience and to oversee a sustainable, profitable market. While 2024 represents a strong, disciplined result and this level of performance needs to be maintained, we have good trading and good strategic momentum. I believe the dominant themes of 2025 and 2026 will be control of distribution, growth driven consolidation and capital innovation. We are an enthusiastic home for all smart strategies and structures, be they underwriting, distribution, innovation or capital optimisation. Our actions will be deliberate, measured but decisive. We go forward with purpose and conviction, always with an eye to the future. Rest assured that any velvet veneer will always be underpinned by an iron grip on underwriting.
