You might see in your personal life, in the workplace, someone give you A or B. The false dichotomy. Two choices. Love it or leave it. Either you're with us, or you're against us. It doesn't acknowledge that there are three options or four options or five options. There might be a negotiated solution, some common ground. Resist the temptation to react emotionally. Move on to identifying facts, evidence that supports option A versus option B. By slowing things down and teasing out the logical steps we can then leave the fallacy on the table and move forward towards more productive decision making.
