A layoff can feel personal, but it’s not actually a reflection of your talent or value. At the end of the day, it’s just a business decision. Many professionals turn this moment into a new opportunity… Whether that means exploring different roles, switching careers, or building new skills. But one of the most important takeaways? You’re not in this alone. Your network is stronger than you think. So reach out, create connections, and engage in conversations. You never know what doors might open or where your next opportunity will come from. 🎥: Catherine Fisher

One of the things that has helped (having gone through three layoffs in my career) is my network. But my definition of network has shifted dramatically over the years 😅. It is not about what the network can do for you today (even though we feel the pressure especially during a job hunt) but asking ourselves, what have we done for our network. And if it takes longer than a few seconds to answer that question, then realize that folks who have helped their the network will reap the dividends - I call it the karma bank - because those folks that have been helped will feel a sense of helping the helpers rather than helping the non-helpers. And yes all that Catherine shared about skills alignment and adaptation is 👍

LinkedIn Why did you close Ibtihal Abu Al-Saad's account? Just because she shared her opinion at a Microsoft event? Is that what free speech means?

It's called SALES. If you can't find a fitting job, you need to learn the the BASICS of sales (I'm an Ex-VP of Sales): 1. Who am I after. 2. How can I bring them value. 3. What I am willing to accept in exchange(in that case - salary range) 4. How am I different from other people who might fill the same role. 5. Write down the arguments. (Inluding your character traits.) 6. Memorize the arguments( so you can say them confidently under pressure) 7. Show up dressed well and REMEMBER - attitude matters. Now, in the social media era, it's good to take care of your social presence as well - you don't have to have the PERFECT online presence, just make sure the recruiter won't find photos of you being drunk at a party with one Facebook search ;-)

How can a platform whose mission is to protect freedom of expression delete the account of someone who was simply expressing their point of view? Especially when that point of view was calling for an end to the killing of innocent people.

Layoff is such a western concept as rightly suggested by PM Modi, India should issue advisory to IT companies ahead of mass planned IT layout by Indian and foreign MNCs. The talent should voluntarily plan their alternative career ahead of the AI layoff. MNCs pushing AI down consumer troat across the world.
