Tomato Farming 101: The Dollars and Cents Tomato farming isn't just about planting seeds and watching them grow. It's a full-on business venture! From seeds and soil to labor and water, there’s a lot that goes into those juicy red fruits. But what does all that effort mean in terms of profit for the farmer? On average, a tomato farmer can expect to make around $1,000 to $2,000 per acre after covering all the costs. It sounds pretty decent, right? But hold up—there’s a catch!
