WE ARE HIRING! We're on the lookout for an experienced tourist caravan park owner, operator, regional manager or manager to join us as General Manager, Tourist Caravan Parks.  This newly refined senior role will directly support member tourist/holiday and mixed-use parks to optimise business viability, profitability and sustainability.  Among other things, the person undertaking this role will:  * Lead the association’s advocacy and broader stakeholder engagement to government and other political and industry stakeholders on matters related specifically to caravan parks that offer short term holiday accommodation  * Monitor the caravan park industry legislative and regulatory environment, specifically related to tourist-based caravan parks so the association can effectively influence political decision makers * Build member trust by developing high quality relationships with tourist-based members to generate a thorough understanding of the issues impacting them * Develop high quality relationships with Victorian ministers and their senior advisors, their equivalents in other parties, and senior department personnel to effectively advocate for members’ interests WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR   * Experience owning and/or operating tourist-based caravan parks at park, regional or head office level would be ideal * An understanding of, or a capacity to understand, the Victorian legislative and regulatory framework governing caravan park operations and the legislation and regulation making process * Strong stakeholder management skills and the capacity to research issues to bring a comprehensive knowledge base to internal and stakeholder discussions * High quality analytical ability to think creatively to ensure all known impacts of policy/legislative/regulatory proposals are identified and solutions considered * Demonstrated high quality written and verbal communication skills, including writing for CEO approval, and being able to present in member, political and other stakeholder forums. Most of all, we’re after someone who loves the idea of making a difference, isn’t afraid of finding solutions to problems and who would love the opportunity to advocate for change at the highest level.
