Hands-Only vs. Traditional CPR: Do You Know the Difference? When it comes to saving lives during sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), knowing the right CPR method can make all the difference. Here's a quick guide to help you understand the two methods: Hands-Only CPR Involves chest compressions only (no mouth-to-mouth). Ideal for adults who suddenly collapse in public places. Proven effective for those who don't have access to immediate professional help. Traditional CPR Involves chest compressions and rescue breaths (mouth-to-mouth). Recommended for infants, children, drowning victims, or anyone who collapses due to breathing problems. When to Use Each Method Use Hands-Only CPR if you see an adult suddenly collapse and there's no breathing or pulse. Use Traditional CPR if you're assisting an infant, a child, or someone who requires both heart and lung resuscitation. Every second counts! By learning these techniques, YOU can be a hero in an emergency. A heart attack is a common but life-threatening condition that requires immediate action. If someone is having a heart attack, call 999 right away and move them to a comfortable sitting position. First aid tips: help them sit with knees bent, head, and shoulders supported. If they’re conscious, have them slowly chew a 300mg aspirin tablet. If they become unconscious, open their airway, check breathing, and start CPR. In case of cardiac arrest, call 999 immediately. Your quick response can save a life. #forklifttraining #barnsley #southyorkshire
