The number of #BigLaw associates who have quit their firms in response to the deals their employers have cut with the Trump administration is growing... The lawyers are among a number of individuals and organizations taking a stand against the actions of both the administration and several Big Law firms, which many believe constitute an attack on the rule of law. Among the latest to quit is Latham & Watkins associate Sam Wong, who said in his resignation email that he feared "staying and being complicit or participating in this administration’s consolidation of power". Quitting Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, associate Siunik Moradian posted to LinkedIn: “I have decided to move forward in my legal career in a direction that unambiguously opposes the delegitimization of the legal system.” See the full story by Jack Womack and Amanda O'Brien: https://lnkd.in/esRUBRrD Image by Chelsey Fredlund. #lawyers #RuleOfLaw #lawfirms #trump

Meh, I am unimpressed. Any lawyer who works for these massive firms are likely supporting corporations that hurt many Americans. That they just woke up because these same firms are bending a knee is just so privileged to me.

Scores more have left because they couldn't hack it or didn't like the 2,000 billable hours. Don't let the grandstanding fool you.

Three associates per week out of tens of thousands. That's not even measurable given normal associate turnover rates. Biglaw associates crave two things: (1) the compensation; and (2) the prestige of their firm's name and Vault/Amlaw ranking. With 90% of Amlaw 100 not signing the amicus brief, where are these associates going to go?
