Land Morphology’s Post

Throughout the expanse of the new Waterfront Park and Overlook Walk, Land Morphology’s design includes an array of 500 plant varieties and nearly 800 trees, creating distinct zones that enhance the visitor experience through color, texture, and seasonal change. Each planting zone across Overlook Walk and the Waterfront Promenade tells a unique story rooted in local history and ecology. For Overlook Walk, the use of resilient plantings native to Puget Sound’s coastal bluffs brings a naturalistic feel, while also providing valuable shade, habitat, and stormwater filtration. The Aquarium Rooftop features a native meadow landscape designed with guidance from traditional ecological knowledge-keeper Valerie Segrest. Land Morphology provided planting design services for the project, collaborating with the urban design lead, Field Operations for this City of Seattle project. Land Morphology’s planting expertise brings a vivid, ecological dimension to Overlook Walk. #waterfrontparkseattle #nativeplantsnorthwest #Seattle #seattlewaterfront #landscapearchitecture #wasla #washingtonlandscapearchitect #urbanparks #plantingdesing #publicspace #garden #meadowgarden #pnwnativeplants #seattledesigner #waterfrontseattle
