It’s Healthcare Science Week (10-16 March) and we're celebrating the diverse range of healthcare science careers available within the NHS. Last week, colleagues at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust had the pleasure of welcoming T-Level students to the LTH Pathology Laboratory, giving them an inside look at the vital role pathology plays in patient care. Pathology is at the heart of healthcare, with 70% of medical decisions relying on laboratory tests. From diagnosing diseases to guiding treatment, our work behind the scenes is essential in delivering the best outcomes for patients. It was fantastic to see the students’ enthusiasm, as they explored different pathology specialisms, learned about the latest diagnostic technologies, and engaged with our dedicated scientists. Visits like these are crucial in inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals and showcasing the exciting career pathways within pathology and healthcare science.
