It’s cold and flu season! Washing hands can help prevent the spread of germs. Keep yourself and loved ones healthy by perfecting your handwashing technique: Wet your hands with clean, running water. 1. Turn off the tap and apply soap. 2. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails. 3. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Hum “Happy Birthday” from beginning to end twice to time yourself! 4. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water. 5. Dry your hands using a clean towel or an air dryer. Washing hands with soap and water is the best way to get rid of germs in most situations. But if soap and water aren’t available, you can use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Water that puddles directly below your dishwasher is a clear indicator that it may be leaking. Leaks from your dishwasher can go on for months or even years before you notice, allowing the possibility for mold to form and rotting to occur. Immediately after you notice that your dishwasher is leaking, have it repaired to prevent any further water damage.
