We are seeking a Floodplain Policy Coordinator to join our collaborative team, dedicated to shaping safer, more resilient communities through sustainable floodplain management. What You’ll Do: - Coordinate Floodplain Development Permits: Review applications, ensure compliance with federal, state, and county standards, and enhance permitting processes. - FEMA Coordination: Analyze and support floodplain map revisions, provide technical assistance to property owners, and collaborate with FEMA. - Community Engagement: Communicate flood risk and regulatory requirements to community members, practitioners, and officials. - Post-Disaster Assessment: Conduct damage surveys and advocate for resilience-focused recovery strategies. - Policy Development: Monitor and contribute to floodplain policy updates to ensure compliance with evolving regulations.
