We’re sharing the news that in order to support our continued growth, we’ll be adding 17,500 square feet of warehouse space in Uwchlan Township this fall! “As our business continues to grow across all locations and we move ahead with the construction of our eighth store in Eagleview Town Center, the need for additional warehouse space has become increasingly essential,” Ezra Brett, chief operations officer, Kimberton Whole Foods, said in an emailed response to questions. Brett said the company is quickly outgrowing its current warehouse on Route 322 in Downingtown, a space from which the company has operated since 2013. The company uses its current warehouse as a distribution center for local vendors that provide its stores with dairy, meat, produce, eggs, honey, baked goods, and more, the company said. It also serves as a distribution center for volume purchasing goods from national brands. Distribution can be one of the biggest challenges for small businesses in the food industry, Brett said, as it adds a significant expense and requires additional labor, which many of these vendors do not have to spare. “For us to meet our mission of bringing local, wholesome foods to our community, we’ve taken on that distribution process to support our local vendors to increase their reach while minimizing their environmental impact and distribution costs,” Brett said. “This new distribution center plays a key role in providing our customers with fresh, high-quality products while supporting our local economy.” Learn more about our expansion plans here https://lnkd.in/gTnZHGCM
