I transformed my health with AI and data while running multiple companies. Lost 50 pounds in 12 months using systems, not willpower. Here's how: Running startups took over my life in 2023. I hit 220 pounds with 30% body fat. My energy crashed. Focus slipped. Something had to change. The breakthrough? Building systems around three pillars, in order of importance: 1. Sleep - The foundation of everything 2. Nutrition - Data-driven decisions 3. Movement - Strategic activity For sleep optimization: • Eight Sleep controls bed temperature precisely • Ozlo Sleepbuds create silence • Whoop monitors weekly recovery patterns The nutrition revolution came through AI and continuous glucose monitoring: • Scan any restaurant menu with AI for optimal choices • Get instant substitution recommendations • Monitor real-time glucose responses • Cross-reference with sleep and heart rate data This removed all guesswork from eating decisions. For movement, I ditched conventional gym schedules: • 15-minute strength sessions via FaceTime • Location-independent workouts • No missed sessions while traveling The system runs on data: • Blood panels through Function • DEXA scans for body composition • Fit 3D imaging for progress tracking Results after 12 months: • Weight: 170 pounds • Body fat: 15.6% • Energy levels: Consistently high • Focus: Sharper than ever Key insight: Systems eliminate the need for motivation. When data guides decisions and AI removes friction, transformation becomes inevitable. Most try to build better habits. I built a system that makes good decisions automatic. — Enjoy this? ♻️ Repost it to your network and follow Kevin Henrikson for more. Weekly frameworks on startups, leadership, and scaling. Wow. Kevin, you look great! I'm taking notes.
This is fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing this brilliant use case here.
This.. empowering individuals, removing guess work and decreasing human cognitive cycles required.
This is awesome Kevin Henrikson (presume it’s not AI generated :-) ) I remember your post from the Accompli days about Fitbit and getting inspired to get one myself.
Thanks for this post, Kevin Henrikson. It has been very inspirational for me. My Garmin Vivoactive IV, a continuous glucose monitor, Peter Attia podcasts, and James Clear have been game-changers for me. I still have a ways to go, but my mantra now is borrowed from a running trainer, Jason Fitzgerald: "Consistency is the secret sauce of success." Training while traveling is still a big challenge for me. Any tips there?
Awesome use of technology. Congratulations!
wow, congratulations.
Nice! "15-minute strength sessions via FaceTime" - What service are you using for this? Congrats on the results!
If only my fridge could tell me what's healthy and delicious—I might lose those 50 pounds too!
