This applies equally to juniors and top-level executives. Here’s how to effectively showcase your volunteer experience: - Select Relevant Experiences: Choose volunteer roles that align with the job you're targeting or display transferable skills. For example, serving on a nonprofit board can illustrate strategic planning skills, while organizing community events can highlight project management and leadership. - Quantify Impact: Treat volunteer achievements like your professional accomplishments. Quantify your impact to illustrate concrete results, such as funds raised or number of participants engaged. - Highlight Leadership and Skills: Emphasize any leadership roles held or new skills developed during your volunteering, such as managing teams, training new volunteers, or navigating complex projects. - Choose Placement Wisely: Depending on its relevance, you can create a separate ‘Volunteer Experience’ section or integrate it with your professional experience. This helps to maintain a cohesive narrative of your career progression. Volunteer Role Examples: - Board Member for a local charity - Event Coordinator for community drives - Volunteer Tutor for educational programs - Crisis Helpline Operator Incorporating volunteer work in your CV can distinguish you as a well-rounded and community-conscious candidate. 𝙄 𝙏𝙊𝘼𝙎𝙏𝙀𝘿 𝙃𝙄𝙈 𝙁𝙄𝙍𝙎𝙏 😋. I sent him a message on Instagram. It took him days to respond, but he finally did. ✓ I started by complimenting his work since I had already studied his profile. ✓ I briefly explained how I could add more value to what he was doing and help increase his income. He was skeptical about my offer to assist for free. I assured him there was nothing to worry about. We got on a call, and after that, I delivered his first order. He was amazed and asked if we could take it a step further. I accepted, and he offered to pay me. Of course, he did! What services do you offer? Volunteer your way to that next big gig. Don’t be shy 🥱. Don’t start with criticisms. Begin with compliments, no matter how small. Appreciation makes application easy. Yes, toast your way into your next big deal! What did you learn from this? Do you have questions about volunteering? 🎁 Check the comments for a link to access international volunteer jobs. I'm rooting for you! 📷 How it started vs. How it progressed. 𝙄'𝙢 𝙎𝙤𝙥𝙝𝙞𝙖 𝙉𝙬𝙖𝙛𝙤𝙧, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙬𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙌𝙪𝙚𝙚𝙣. 𝙄 𝙬𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙤 𝙫𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮.
