Certified and improved seed is the foundation to increasing agricultural competiveness. To combat food insecurity, Africa government must strengthen the delivery capacities of national seed councils and work towards a decentralised community-based seed system. Abt is taking the lead in this agenda by forging partnership with relevant institutions in Tanzania.

🌍🌱 I find it fascinating how agriculture is at the heart of so many global challenges—climate change, food security, and sustainability. Here’s a powerful example by Brazilian farmer Rafael Riedel who is balancing these complexities, showing how regenerative farming can benefit both people and the planet. Access to finance is vital to encourage investment in farming. The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine works closely with the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland to deliver low cost funding to support the agri-food sector, currently available via the Growth and Sustainability Loan Scheme. #GSLS
