Today, I'm filled with gratitude for many things, but especially for my big brother Eric. Through every venture, he's been my supporter - investing, becoming a customer, and maintaining his belief in me even when I’ve lost his money before (sorry bro). He celebrates my victories and lifts me up when I am down. Without telling me, he did a ‘contact us’ on our website and bought a NanoTech Materials cool roof. Family truly forms your first entrepreneurial team. They instill the self-belief essential for any founder's journey. Often, they become your first investors and customers, providing the foundation you need to persist. Their support keeps you moving forward when everything else seems to be pushing back. To those who have entrepreneurs in their family: Your support matters more than you know. That family member at your Thanksgiving table might be silently hiding countless rejections. For me, Thanksgiving has always been a sanctuary - a brief respite from the reality of draining personal bank account and the ever-present fear of failure. As you share this holiday with entrepreneurial family members, remember that your words of encouragement, your belief, and even the smallest gestures of support can provide the momentum they need to succeed. Sometimes, that gentle push from family makes all the difference between giving up and breaking through. #entrepreneur #entrepreneurjourney

Have you ever shared your dream of starting your own business, only to be met with raised eyebrows or even laughter? You know that feeling — like the people you care about think you’re crazy for wanting more. It’s painful, and that fear of being judged can keep you stuck right where you are. But here’s the thing: their laughter comes from their own fear, not yours. You don’t need anyone’s permission to pursue your dream. LET ME SAY IT AGAIN. YOU DON’T NEED ANYONE’S PERMISSION TO PURSUE YOUR DREAM. You are the one who gets to decide what your future looks like, and if that future is outside of the 9-5, then let’s make it happen. I created the Empowered to Exit 5-Day Challenge because I know what it’s like to want to break free and feel held back by the opinions of others. I want to help you create a plan to ditch corporate life and step confidently into entrepreneurship, no matter what anyone says. Ready to prove the naysayers wrong? Join the F•R•E•E challenge today, and let’s show them what you’re made of. L•I•N•K IN C•O•M•M•E•N•T•S XOXO Lisa Marie 💖

The golden rule of business and beyond. In 20 years of entrepreneurship, it's never failed me. Never lie. Not to clients, not to employees, not to loved ones, not to anyone. That way, you won't have to: • Remember who you lied to and what you said. • Feel ashamed when the truth inevitably comes out (because it will). • Try to rebuild a tarnished reputation. • Regain lost trust. Screwed up? Shit happens. Own it, fix it, and do better. --- P.S. Ever had to lie? Time to get real... I've built 3 companies, raised 2 amazing kids, and helped thousands of entrepreneurs succeed. Want to know what DIDN'T help? The endless hustle, 2am emails, and "rise & grind" mindset. What DID? Setting real boundaries, building solid systems, and saying NO to toxic business practices like cold pitching. You can have both success AND sanity. It's not just possible - it's necessary. #WomenInBusiness #MomPreneur #BoundariesAreBeautiful #SystemsForSuccess #NoMoreHustle #AuthenticBusiness #OrganicGrowth #WorkSmarter #EthicalBusiness #RealTalk #BusinessWithoutBurnout #FemaleFounder

Today, a friend shared a heartbreaking story of significant financial loss and the subsequent depression she's facing. It's a stark reminder that even the most passionate and talented individuals can encounter setbacks in the entrepreneurial world. As someone who's navigating the path of entrepreneurship myself, her story resonated deeply. It underscored the importance of resilience, adaptability, and the willingness to seek support when needed. My immediate response was to offer words of encouragement and suggest potential collaborations to help her rebuild. But it also prompted me to reflect on the broader challenges faced by entrepreneurs and how we, as a community, can create a more supportive ecosystem for each other. It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of chasing our dreams, but it's equally important to acknowledge the potential pitfalls and have a support system in place. Whether it's through mentorship, networking, or simply lending a listening ear, we can all play a role in helping each other navigate the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. Remember, setbacks are not failures, they are opportunities for growth and learning. Let's foster a culture of support and encouragement within our entrepreneurial communities, so that no one feels alone in their struggles.

Being an entrepreneur is like being a kid in a candy store. There’s always something new, shiny, and exciting calling out to you. For me, that’s the future—dreaming up new features, crazy growth hacks, or even whole new businesses. The future is where the fun is! Everything shiny feels brighter than the work I’m doing today. But here’s the kicker: if you chase every shiny thing, you’ll end up going in circles. That’s why the ultimate superpower of an entrepreneur is being the NoMan (or NoWoman, let’s be fair). Every single day, I have to fight the urge to say yes to all the ideas that pop into my head. Nope, not today, new project. Sorry, thrilling side quest. Even when my brain is doing cartwheels screaming, “This one’s different! This is the one!” I have to stick to my guns and focus. The hardest “no” I ever gave wasn’t to a coworker or a friend. It was to myself. Telling my own brain, “No, buddy, not today,” felt like grounding an overexcited puppy. Painful, but necessary. And here’s the twist: that big fat “no” turned out to be freeing. It cleared the way to focus on what actually mattered—and that’s when the magic happens. So, to anyone out there chasing big dreams: remember, saying no isn’t giving up. It’s doubling down on what’s most important. Sometimes, the most powerful “yes” hides behind a very firm “no.”

👋 I’m Marvin Francois, the creator and mentor behind Takeoff University. Growing up in Brooklyn, NY, as the son of immigrant parents, I quickly learned that building a business isn’t easy—especially when capital is hard to come by. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, I witnessed how a shaky financial foundation could lead to struggles and, at times, the loss of a business. It became clear to me that change was needed. With guidance from mentors, I dove into the world of credit, using what I learned to help friends and family boost their credit and secure the funding they needed. 💪🏽 After a year of empowering those close to me, I realized I was meant to do more. That’s why I founded Takeoff University. Today, my mission remains the same: to equip early-stage entrepreneurs with the tools, insights, and resources they need to elevate their businesses and achieve their dreams. I invite you to join us at Takeoff University—because I believe in you and your potential to succeed. Together, we can turn your aspirations into reality. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/g-fa-Gwq #BlackEntrepreneur #BlackFounder #MinorityEntrepreneur #BusinessFunding #BusinessCredit

Let me paint a picture for you about two kids that most people thought would never amount to anything Why? Let me give you a quick backstory. My brother from another mother, Paul Moley, and I were a bit of a wild card growing up. In Kindergarten, we became fast friends, and when I was out for two weeks with appendicitis, he was the first person to greet me at the door with balloons. We went our separate ways when he ended up going to a public school after K, but we made up for lost time when we came back together our freshman year in H.S. Most people in our school (teachers, admin, kids) thought that we would never amount to anything because let’s just say we lived in the gray area of behavior. True Story... A few teachers and principals told me to my face that the most we would achieve in our lives was picking up garbage because nobody would ever hire us for anything. Well… They were right. Nobody hired us for anything. Instead, we went out and started successful businesses, and the joke is on them. Here’s the thing Judging a kid’s potential based on their personality or quirks is missing the bigger picture. Some of the best entrepreneurs were seen as outcasts or troublemakers when they were younger. Why? Because they questioned the status quo, they didn’t follow the beaten path, and they refused to fit into a box. Paul and I weren’t bad kids; we were just wired a little differently. And that’s often the seed of entrepreneurship. Thinking differently, pushing boundaries, and refusing to settle. So, the next time you see a kid who doesn’t fit the mold, remember… They might just be the next founder who proves everyone wrong. #Entrepreneurship #NeverJudge #FutureFounders #ThinkDifferent

The silent killer of entrepreneurial dreams. (And how to make sure it doesn't destroy yours.) You're ready to change the world. But there's one thing that could tank it all. And he or she is probably sleeping right next to you. I'm talking about your spouse. Here's the harsh truth: The #1 dream-killer for entrepreneurs isn't competition or cash flow. It's lack of support at home. I learned this the hard way when I moved across the country to start my business. The secret to my success has been having my wife Tatiana in my corner. She supported me even when she wasn't sure about the business itself. Here's why it matters: Running a business is a rollercoaster of highs and lows You'll face challenges you never saw coming Without support, the pressure can break you So before you quit your job or sink your savings into that startup… Have THE talk. Paint the vision. Address the fears. Get alignment. Because my friend let me tell you… All the business plans in the world can't save you if your home life is in chaos. —------------------- Repost to help other individuals in your network.
