Hello, welcome back to your Tuesday tech tip from the Kane County Roe. My name is Phil Morris, director of operations and technology. Over the last few tech tips, we've covered how to clear space in your phone with managing photo and video content, as well as offloading unused apps. Now I'd like to help you make sure you're backing up what you do have on your phone in case it gets lost, stolen, or broken. It used to be that your phone did not store a lot of information, but nowadays. Data is stored from all your apps including social media, restaurants and all your photos, emails and messages. At one point my phone had a OU message with something to the effect of cloud does not have enough storage to back U. You may have seen this before too. Unfortunately, any backup of your phone requires storage an Apple and the other smartphone developers limit the amount of free storage space they provide. Apple provides just five GB of free storage which is really not much beyond that. You would need to pay for proper amount of storage. I personally have chosen the two terabyte. And which allows up to 5 phones to be backed U under family sharing O how do you check your backup status? Easy, Go to settings, then click on your Apple account, go to cloud and you can look at the cloud backup to make sure you have the space to actually generate backups of your data. This same screen provides the option to manage the plan where you can upgrade the amount of space. This way, if you have a problem with your phone, you can log into a new phone, download your latest backup when you are off and running if you're interested in adding family members to your plan. Can go to settings, click enter ale account and Scroll down to family. Once you open that section the top right of the screen there's a small little plus sign which you can click and add members from there the process to make sure everything and everyone is backed U should be easy. So we have covered cleaning up apps and photos that take up a lot of space on your phone and now how to make sure you're backing up your information. You should hopefully feel good knowing you have a cleaner phone being regularly backed up in case of an emergency. Please take a moment to like and share this.
