Waves at Sunrise: A Lesson in Leadership and Learning* 🌊 My sister sent me this video taken in eastern Maine at sunrise. As I watched it, mesmerized by the motion, I was struck by the rhythm of nature’s persistence. Each wave—no matter how strong or soft—reaches the shore and then retreats, only to try again. It doesn’t stop. It doesn’t dwell on the shape of its last attempt. It simply begins anew. In leadership, we face countless “waves” of challenges, opportunities, and decisions. Not every wave is perfect; some hit harder than we expect, while others barely make an impact. But each one gives us something extraordinary: the chance to reset, learn, and try again. True growth comes when we embrace this rhythm. When we see every situation, every wave, not as an endpoint, but as a step in our journey. Leaders who are willing to reflect, adapt, and move forward—no matter what—are the ones who create meaningful change for themselves and their teams. So the next time you face a difficult situation, remember the waves. Your next opportunity is already on its way. 🌊 What’s one “wave” that helped shape you as a leader? “Your problem isn’t the problem. Your reaction is the problem.” Throughout our lives, we all face challenges—sometimes big, sometimes small. These challenges, whether in our work or our personal lives, are a part of the human experience. But what truly defines us is not the obstacles we encounter, but how we choose to respond to them. When faced with adversity, it’s easy to react impulsively, to let our frustrations get the better of us. But I’ve learned that the power lies not in the heat of the moment, but in taking a step back, staying calm, and responding with purpose. This is where true leadership emerges—not just in managing a situation, but in managing ourselves. We have the capacity to rise above the difficulties, to approach them with thoughtful reflection, and to make decisions that align with our values and principles. It’s this kind of measured response that can turn challenges into opportunities and build a future that reflects our best selves. #Leadership #Resilience #PersonalGrowth #MindsetMatters #CalmInTheStorm #ProfessionalDevelopment #ChangeMakers

"Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every New Year find you a better man" - Benjamin Franklin These words have echoed through centuries, but they hit differently when you're standing at the crossroads of change. 🌱 I've had the privilege of witnessing remarkable transformations through our work at Gladwood, LLC. What starts with a simple "Readiness for Change" assessment often becomes a turning point in someone's professional journey. Recently: • A senior executive finally understood why certain changes felt so challenging • A team leader discovered untapped potential they didn't know existed • A manager found clarity in their growth direction Here's what makes this different: It's not just another assessment - it's a conversation with yourself, backed by decades of proven research and real human impact. The most common feedback? "This gave me the clarity I've been searching for." If you're feeling that inner calling for growth (as we all do at times), I'd love to share this FREE resource that's helped countless professionals take their first step: → https://lnkd.in/ejmhD8zg Because understanding where you stand today is the foundation for who you'll become tomorrow. ✨ #PersonalGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment #Leadership

Over the years at Gladwood, LLC using the Hartman Value Profile (#HVP), I've witnessed something remarkable... It's those quiet moments when someone finally "gets it" - that instant when the fog of uncertainty lifts and clarity takes over. But here's the thing that keeps me up at night: Most professionals are trying to change without first understanding their starting point. That's why we've made our "Readiness for Change" assessment available for free. It's NOT a personality quiz (trust me, I've taken enough of those 😅). It's a conversation with yourself, backed by decades of research and real human impact. Just last week, a client told me: "For the first time, I understand why I react the way I do to change. This isn't just insight - it's liberation." Want to know where you truly stand on your journey to change? I'd love to share this resource that's helped thousands of professionals find their path: → https://lnkd.in/ejmhD8zg Because real transformation starts with self-awareness. ✨ #PersonalGrowth #Leadership #ProfessionalDevelopment P.S. The assessment takes just 15 minutes, but the clarity it brings? That lasts much longer.

Sometimes, we think we’re not ready for the next big step in our leadership journey. But what if the signs are already there, quietly showing you that you’re more prepared than you realize? Here are 5 subtle yet powerful indicators that you’re ready to achieve leadership excellence: 1. You’re asking better questions. Instead of seeking quick fixes, you’re digging deeper, questioning the why behind decisions, and focusing on long-term impact. 2️. You’ve embraced discomfort. Growth isn’t easy, but you’ve started seeing challenges as learning opportunities, not barriers to avoid. 3. Your team is thriving. Leadership isn’t about doing everything yourself, and you’re beginning to notice how empowering others creates greater success for everyone. 4. You reflect more than react. You’ve shifted from knee-jerk reactions to intentional reflection, giving you clarity in high-pressure situations. 5. You’re no longer chasing perfection. Instead, you’re embracing progress, understanding that leadership is about moving forward, not having all the answers. If these resonate with you, it’s time to stop doubting yourself. You’re more ready than you think to leap, embrace new challenges, and achieve your next level of leadership excellence. What other signs do you think show someone is ready to level up? Reflecting on the Journey of Leadership and Life 🛤️ Some days, the weight of leadership feels heavier than usual. It’s in these moments, as I balance the roles of leader, friend, wife, mother, and everything else the world demands that I’m reminded of the complexity of human experience. 🌐 Making decisions isn’t always black and white. Often, they’re layered with shades of grey that only the decision-maker can see. It’s a challenging path, where the best intentions can sometimes cast you in an unfavorable light. Yet, it’s a path we choose, knowing full well the responsibilities it entails. 🧭 Yes, it’s tough. There are days when the outcomes are far from what we envisioned, and the choices we make may lead to moments of solitude and reflection. But it’s in these moments that our passion for what we do becomes even more evident. ❤️ We are human. We feel, we falter, and we rise again, stronger and more determined. Today was one such day—a reminder that the journey is as much about the destination as it is about the growth along the way. 💪 I love what I do, and I embrace both the triumphs and the trials. Because at the end of the day, it’s about moving forward, learning, and growing—not just as a leader, but as the person I am striving to be. 🚀 #Leadership #Reflection #GrowthMindset

🌟 Leaders don't just happen overnight! 🌟 Meet Alex. A few years ago, Alex was the go-to person for every project. When something needed to get done, Alex did it—and did it well. This reputation for excellence led to a well-deserved promotion to a leadership role. But here’s the twist: being a leader isn’t just about doing great work yourself. It’s about inspiring and empowering others to do great work. 🌱✨ The Transition: At first, Alex found it challenging. Used to diving into tasks headfirst, Alex now had to step back and trust the team to deliver. This shift from doing to leading required a whole new set of skills—communication, delegation, and motivation. The Growth: With dedication and the right support, Alex embraced the change. Through coaching, mentorship, and a commitment to personal growth, Alex learned how to get it done through others. The team thrived, and so did Alex. The Lesson: Alex’s journey is a testament to a powerful truth: Leaders Are Made, Not Born. Leadership isn’t an innate talent; it’s a skill set that can be developed with effort and perseverance. Remember, every great leader starts somewhere. Invest in your growth, seek out resources, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. 🚀💪 #JohnGraciLeadership #LeadersAreMadeNotBorn #LeadershipDevelopment #LeadershipJourney #LeadersAreMade #PersonalGrowth

As we journey through life, especially in our roles as leaders, we encounter challenges and setbacks. These bumps in the road can be frustrating and sometimes disheartening. But it’s important to remember that these obstacles are part of our growth process. Every bump we face is a lesson in disguise. It teaches us resilience, patience, and problem-solving. When we stumble, we gain a deeper understanding of our strengths and weaknesses. We learn what works and what doesn’t, and we become better equipped to handle future challenges. Embracing these bumps means accepting that they are a natural part of our path to success. Instead of getting discouraged, we should view them as opportunities to learn and grow. Each challenge we overcome adds to our experience and makes us stronger leaders. Keep moving forward, even when the road gets rough. Celebrate your small victories, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Growth isn’t about being perfect; it’s about continuously striving to be better. So, the next time you hit a bump, remember that it’s just a stepping stone on your journey. Embrace it, learn from it, and keep moving forward with confidence and determination. _____________________ B Jacqueline Jeter Transformational Growth and Mindset Strategist The Leadership Landscaper #leaderslearn #leadersgrow #leaderslead #yourgrowisinyourgo #FITPerspective #FITMindset #growleadandprosper #bjacquelinejeter #getyagrowthup #unmaskunmuteunleash #TheQUITMethod #bjacleads #bjacspeaks #whatdoyouseewhenyouseewhatyousee #LeadWell #growthisessential #MaxwellLeadership #BreastCancerWarrior #BreastCancerAdvocate #changeagent #LeadershipGrowth #WomenInLeadership
