For me, overcoming setbacks meant changing my mindset and approach. What helped me most was learning to practice and perform with relaxation, always focusing on my MUSICAL goals rather than technical ones. When I did that, I started searching for ways to adjust my technique to produce the sounds I wanted. The result was that practicing became significantly more gratifying despite some tough and persistent challenges. If you ever run into a setback, remind yourself it's just part of the journey. Then take a deep breath and consider varying your approach.
Remember to ALWAYS focus on being musically expressive.
