Freddy Mahhumane emphasized the crucial relationship between technology and transportation. He expressed his concern that our townships are far behind where they should be in terms of technological advancement. This gap has forced them to focus on training clients in e-commerce, a vital step toward bridging the digital divide and empowering local communities. What a great opportunity to make a difference to an industry that is in need of innovation. Often the barriers to work with gov are so great, many small to medium businesses stay away. Don't let this be the case now. Although this is not a grants program, the Gateway to Innovate program is a pathway for ideas that are ready to pilot and trial on a Transport infrastructure project. I particularly like the focus on capturing the cost benefit realised through the trial. Important metrics to inform future decisions. Well done to Transport for NSW for launching this initiative 👏 #ideas #pilot #impact
GATEWAY TO INNOVATE Transport for NSW has launched Gateway to Innovate, a new program created to provide a pathway for organisations to trial and test innovations on Transport projects to uplift productivity across the sector. If you have new approaches to old challenges, ideas from other industries that may work for Transport or you think you have a product that can improve established ways of working in this industry, then talk to GovPartners to see how we can help you to put your best application foward to Transport for NSW. Please get in touch with Clare Huxley [She/Her/Hers] for more information: clare@govpartners.com.au or 0413 158 986. #gateway #innovate #tfnsw #gov #govinnovation #govtech

Thank you FST Government! I had such a great time!, very insightful colleagues and super interesting topics. Some of my thoughts: 1. if you want to maintain momentum on your digital projects... start by not working on "projects" but changing the mindset into persistent teams within capabilities and services that are constantly evolving, that includes the way you fund work and how you structure the teams. 2. Have clear metrics to define success and not be afraid to stop or pause work if it is not achieving what was expected, or more critical work needs to be prioritised first, work to outcomes, not deliverables. 3. Bring your people closer to the why and look for ways to innovate on development opportunities, across the sector we have great examples on innovative ways to develop our people, we should try and expand or replicate across the broad to reach more widely. 4. Lastly, changes to structures or governments do not change the ultimate expected outcomes for the people we serve, focus on the why we are doing what we are doing, and be agile to pivot on the how and when. #FSTGovNSW #FSTGovernment
We just wrapped up an enlightening panel discussion on "Mobilising Digital: How Does NSW Deploy Innovation to Solve Legacy Challenges and Harness Emerging ICT?" at #FSTGov's Future of NSW Government Summit. Throughout the discussion, it became clear that striking the right balance between strategic vision and execution, leveraging tech advancements, and building a solid digital foundation were and are key for Karen K. Chief Digital Officer at Revenue NSW. Kurt Brissett, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at Transport for NSW, stressed the importance of an outcome-focused approach and the establishment of tech incubators to drive innovation in transport delivery. Daniela Polit Director of Shared Services Roadmap at the Premier's Department NSW, emphasised the pivotal role of technology in service delivery and the importance of responsiveness and agility in achieving government outcomes. Mike A. Dudarenok Chief Information and Digital Officer at NSW Education Standards Authority addressed the challenges of scaling large programs and the critical role of policy in government-private sector collaboration. We are energised by the collective insights shared by our panellists who emphasised the critical importance of strategic vision, technology leveraging, and collaborative agility in driving NSW's digital transformation journey forward. #FSTGovNSW #FSTGovernment

Uniting City, Regional and National Governments with Global Tech Innovations I have recently enjoyed engaging with various international administrations and regions to discuss how to effectively deliver technology led public services. Government bodies and tech companies operate at fundamentally different pace. Whilst tech firms pursue rapid development, governments must balance innovation with stability, inclusiveness and public safety. Yet my experience has shown me that successful partnerships emerge when we treat these differences not as barriers, but as complementary strengths — provided we create the right connecting frameworks between local, national, and global levels. A few further thoughts on how national, state and city government bodies can work together to harness the power of technology solutions. 🇬🇧🇮🇳🇷🇸🇱🇹 techUK TechWM #Digitaltransformation https://lnkd.in/e9CZ_grp

Business as usual in B2B technology often means a neglect of environmental impacts. Free ICT has been reaching out to policymakers in Europe and the U.S. to address the need for regulations around software, networking equipment and the license terms attached to both. This journey will continue, and we hope to evolve the tech industry to a new normal where sustainability and freedom of choice prevail. Origina Tomás O.
