This is a great example of how smaller local businesses can benefit from similar AI-driven strategies. Seeing a large corporation utilize DX to potentially help support local businesses is a great way to spearhead benefits on a larger scale. Deepseek's progress doesn't stop the AI giant from sinking (WSJ Japan Edition) On January 27, 2025, U.S. stock markets declined amid concerns over Chinese AI startup Deepseek. The company announced a breakthrough in AI performance that approaches advanced U.S. models while claiming to train its latest model for only $5.6 million, significantly less than American expenses. In comparison, U.S. companies face much higher training costs, with OpenAI's CEO reporting over $100 million for its GPT-4 model, and Anthropic's CEO noting some models nearing $1 billion in training costs. This has benefited U.S. firms like Nvidia, Broadcom, and Marvel, whose market values have soared due to increased demand for AI semiconductor chips. High barriers to entry and U.S. government sanctions on advanced AI chip sales to China have usually provided a competitive advantage for American tech giants, including Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Meta Platforms.
